Confidence is one of the biggest issues with developing artists. It takes a long time to gain it, but only a moment to take a huge setback. In our experience, whatever a singer is attempting….a recording, a performance, an audition…. until they are fully confident in themselves, they need a safety net, an assurance that when they fall they won't break. One Umbrella can be that protection.

Almost anyone; maybe Robbie Williams is a bit beyond us, but we like to think there is always an aspect of any artist that could benefit from improvement and development. There are NO age limits!
- You could be a 5-year old with an outrageous singing talent, whose parents would like to be helped along with a bit of gentle guidance.
- You could be a teenager writing your first songs wanting a bit of help and reassurance that you are on the right track.
- You could be a gigging artist that is getting frustrated with your lack of progress up the ladder to success.
- You could be a working Mum who secretly wants to sing for a living.
- You could be a middle-aged diva looking to let the voice you've always known you had loose upon the world.
You could be any of the above, needing some help to prepare for an audition for a TV talent show. (You weren't thinking of going WITHOUT preparing, were you?).
Everyone has different requirements. Our first session with you would be to assess your talents and find out what it is you REALLY want from your music. Then we work out a program to suit you and your circumstances, to help you achieve your goals, at a pace that you can cope with.
We can work Umbrella-magic (it's a new thing, more advanced than all that Harry Potter stuff) in many ways, but also work closely with excellent vocal coaches and other development specialists where necessary. The important thing is to get all the elements working together that will make you a better singer and performer. Confidence, voice, image, style of music….we'll look at it all and get you working like a well-oiled machine. Except of course you will be a bit more human than that, with emotions and a personality!
We also look at the business side of music - when it's appropriate. In today's market it's those who can look after themselves and promote themselves who progress. We look at ways to make gigging, recording and (especially) the internet work to your advantage and to build your fanbase.
Your sessions might be part practice, part songwriting, part performance, part promotional - whatever is right for YOU.
Working artists who feel like they are banging their heads against a brick wall when it comes to getting that big gig or management/label deal may not be able to see the wood from the trees. Why are all these talentless idiots rich and famous when you're not?
You can commission a One Umbrella A&R report to help you get a truly objective, unbiased idea of where you are going wrong..AND right. Family and friends are great for a boost, but their comments rarely stretch beyond 'you're really GOOD!' It doesn't help you move forward.
Reports range from an analysis of up to 3 songs, to a full report on everything about you - your recorded music, internet presence, image, a full gig review, personality, stage presence, star quality etc.
Where appropriate we will offer suggestions for improvement and progression.
Each report will be geared to your requirements and will be totally confidential.

The first consultation meeting for a potential client for Artist Development will be £50. This will include a full assessment of your talent, current situation and your hopes and plans for the future. It will entitle you to a minimum of two hours consultation, to include a test recording (rough) where appropriate, and can be taken in two sessions if more convenient. In our experience, this is the bare minimum time needed to get to know you (sometimes your family too if you are under 18!), what you are capable of, and what you want to achieve.
Subsequent to the initial consultation, sessions will be charged at £25 per hour, with discounts for prepaid multiple sessions booked in advance. It's a great investment in your own future - take a look at what Jon Burnell from rising band KOSMO KINGS has to say in our testimonials section!
At our discretion, we will consider making financial concessions for those with difficult circumstances. So an initial consultation is well worth it - everything else can be discussed from that point.
We are always looking to increase our stable of artists, both on the agency side, for covers acts, and the management side, for those working on their own music. Clients showing an exceptional talent or potential may be offered, at our discretion, a fast-track scholarship to really boost their musical career prospects. This may be in the form of a management deal being offered, reduced fees, or even free sessions.
Anyone may apply for an Umbrellaship, but we are a small business and need to maintain a healthy balance of fee-paying clients in order to survive! So please do not be offended if we can't offer you these goodies straight away.
