helping them to get the best out of their talents, we have seen the
rise, rise and rise in popularity of TV talent shows. Although they are
good entertainment, we know they break more hearts and careers than
they make.
They build up the hopes of many, only to knock them down again. They hold up the prize of fame and fortune, celebrity and superstardom. When this is cruelly taken away, hopes are dashed, confidence is shattered, and potentially good careers and artists are lost. It's a blow from which many won't recover, whether it's at the early audition stage, or much further down the line. The only shortcut these contests offer is a shortcut to heartbreak.
